Spring is finally here in full force and the weather has been perfect for sitting outside with a new book and a glass of wine. I’ve got a few new picks I’m going to be picking up over the next month to share with you.
Leave Your Mark is the perfect read for all the #girlbosses out there. It’s basically a mentorship in 288 pages for anyone just starting their career or even well into their career. Aliza is a fashion communications executive and focuses on communications and building your personal brand. Even if you don’t have a career that utilizes or relies on social media, you will still appreciate the lessons on branding yourself and your career in the world of LinkedIn.
The Art of Not Having It All is a great memoir about being a single girl not juggling it all in a world where we’re supposed to lean in. Any woman out there who has felt the struggle of finding time in your schedule to hit yoga, work all day and night, meet friends, eat kale, find a boyfriend, and do it all like yesterday will get this hilarious memoir. I picked this up just the other day and haven’t been able to put it down.
The Knockoff is a novel about publishing in the digital age. I think of it kind of like The Devil Wears Prada with Twitter. Imogen returns to her magazine after a few months off to find it’s been completely changed into a twentysomething, social media sweatshop. She has no idea how to work the Internet but has to find a way to get her magazine back on track. This is going to be a perfect beach read to pick up.
So I recently got a spiralizer and it’s kind of the coolest thing ever. I don’t know if you’re aware, but eating vegetables in noodle form makes them about 900% better. I ordered my spiralizer from Williams-Sonoma and decided I should pick up a cookbook as well. I’m so glad I got the cookbook because I was kind of lost after I got the noodles done. With warm weather here, zucchini noodles are going to be your best friend this year.
