One of the top five things of being a girl: lipstick.
My favorite everyday go-to is a bright pink. On a daily basis, I don’t do a ton of makeup, so a bold lip is pretty much my standard. This pink lip balm from pixi! is something I absolutely cannot live without. I got it as a sample in my Birchbox last year and loved it. It’s made with shea butter so it leaves your lips super soft, but still has bright color. I wear it in pixi pink, but love all the shades. The great news, you can get it at Target!
A little more traditional lipstick option in pink is this Chanel Rouge Allure. It was my first foray into bright pink lips and I happened upon it while playing with every single product at the Chanel counter at Nordstrom. It goes on really soft and doesn’t dry out like a lot of lipstick.
Let’s move on to bold reds, shall we? I have two options for you here. A bright red that also happens to be wallet friendly and a more classic deep red that’s a bit of a splurge. I bought this NYX lipstick after a super long day at work and was roaming Walgreens with an Essie, a bottle of wine, and ice cream. Obviously things were going well that day. But I did walk out with this total star of the lipstick world. It’s a great bright, bold red for those days where you just feel like you need a little extra something.
This deeper, dark red is a perfect everyday lipstick. It’s a great shade that’s not too bold, but still gives you the sass you need to get through the day. Chanel red lipstick should really be a requirement in every woman’s purse.
I don’t tend to do a neutral lip that often, but that’s mainly due to the fact that I’m lazy and never want to do a smokey eye and don’t feel put together enough with that “no makeup” makeup look. But when I got the chance to go spend the morning playing at the Birchbox store in Soho, I found these Model co Party Proof matte lipsticks which are perfect. I had a brighter shade of these in a Birchbox so I knew I loved the brand. It was just the push I needed to do a subtle lip. You won’t go wrong with Model co Party Proof lipsticks, so check them out.
I can’t go this whole time and not bring up every girls’ staple: lip gloss. I don’t wear a ton of lip gloss, but sometimes I just need to break it out. I live for these Chanel glosses. They come in the best color and are so skinny they fit in pretty much any clutch. The great part is that you can usually get them in sets of three with a cute Chanel makeup bag and who wouldn’t want that. I also recommend using a clear gloss over your favorite lipstick to give it a shinier look.
