End of Summer Brunch

End of Summer Brunch-6

Even though there are technically a few weeks of summer left, Labor Day weekend always feels like the official end to summer. I spent the weekend going through all my summer clothes and getting rid of seasonal things I didn’t wear and know I don’t want anymore. Chuck and I went to the park per usual and tormented all the kids. Then we went to Starbucks and found out pumpkin spice lattes are already back. I actually hate pumpkin spice lattes, but the fact that it was 95 degrees out made it kind of extra depressing.

Miraculously my sister and I both had some free time on the same day so we met up for a girly brunch at Brasserie. This is one of my favorite spots in the Central West End. My favorite item on their menu is by far the burger and fries. And you can get it anytime of the day. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and luckily everyone else brought their puppies which is always a win at any time I leave my house party restaurant.

For brunch they have beignets which are more fried donut than what you typically think of a beignet, but still so delicious. They come with little plums which happen to be my favorite fruit of all time and butter. Since I was wearing a relatively tight dress, I didn’t get the burger this time and instead went with the eggs benedict. You can never go wrong with the staples.

I love grabbing a bite at Brasserie because it’s so cute and the food is always so delicious. It’s very French inspired which obviously means it was made for me. The patio is the perfect setting for a leisurely brunch with your pup or your girlfriends and a pitcher of mimosas. In the evenings the string lights come on and make it the perfect spot to enjoy a bottle of wine with your guy. Again, totally OK if that guy happens to be of the four legged variety.
