It’s going to be a hectic week around here because I just got back from a girls weekend with my long-distance BFF. If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know I was in Chicago for the weekend! It was such a fun time with one of my favorite girls and my only remaining comrade in the Single Girl Gang. Which if you too are single, understand it’s like finding a unicorn. We spent lots of time shopping and making all the important stops, like Shake Shack and Magnolia Bakery.

I’ve had so much good content to get up for you guys lately that I had to sideline some of my vacation posts! Luckily I’m back at it. I’ve got a ton of photos to edit for part 2 of my Savannah travel guide, which is going to be so good and worth the wait. I posted this green floral twosie set on Instagram while I was in Hilton Head and got A LOT of questions about it. So I didn’t want to wait any longer to post it! I ordered this little set from Revolve, here and here, which if you’re not familiar with is one of my favorite online retailers. They have similar brands to Nordstrom or Shopbop and they have amazing customer service. They do have a few exclusive brands, like Privacy Please which is what my little floral twosie set is.

Now something I want to talk about is the crop top. I love a crop top and own several, but let’s be honest I’ve got to be having a skinny day to feel like I can own it. I actually have had this conversation with a few of my friends about how stupid I feel worrying about a crop top. I’m a size 6-8 typically and depending on the brand. As I’ve mentioned before I go to barre class 3-5 times a week so I’m doing the best I can. I had an incident recently at the pool of my apartment complex where I was just laying in my swimsuit trying to read a book and a guy came up to me thinking I was his gf/sister/whatever who was actually sitting two loungers away. I wasn’t really paying attention and I heard his girlfriend call for him as he was putting his stuff down next to me. After he’d set his stuff down by his girlfriend she was giving him a hard time about not recognizing her which was actually hilarious. But then she said “I can’t believe you’d think I was that big.” Here’s the thing, if I was a lesser woman I’d have probably taken it personally and maybe cried. If I were a harsher woman, I’d have gotten up and punched her in her face. But because of who I am as a person, I kept reading and then had qdoba for dinner. It just says a lot more about her than it does me. Just use this as a good reminder to be a little kinder and more thoughtful to each other.

I don’t want to get off on a whole everyone is beautiful tangent, because if you’re even reading this you probably agree. So when it comes to throwing on a crop top just go for it. I will also say that it helps the self-confidence when you’ve got a crop top set as flattering as this one. There’s no elastic so it lays flat on you and no weird indentations. The pieces are actually cut a little big; I bought a large in both, but should have worn a medium. The shorts were just a little too big, but I tied the knot at the front a little tighter. I’d rather buy this a little too big than a little too small. I’m also obsessed with this floral print. Privacy Please has tons of beautiful fabrics and patterns so I recommend browsing through all the pieces. A few of my favorites are this dress, this dress, and this dress.
