I think 2014 was the year everyone I know decided they would throw a holiday party. I had a different holiday event every weekend of December, and January is pretty busy as well. I had a hard time finding a variety of things to wear since I had a few different events to go to with the same people. Luckily I was able to creatively mix and match some of the same items to wear to a couple of different parties.
Even though the busiest time for holiday parties has come and gone, I’m sure some of you still have holiday parties well into January. This is one of my favorite holiday looks because I was able to wear it a couple of different ways. This look is also great for a post-holiday holiday party because it doesn’t necessarily scream Christmas. Gold and black are great for January parties because they are so fun and easy to accessorize.
I love doing a skirt/top combination because I am a big time repeat offender of my favorite items; so with this look you can mix and match a lot of different pieces. A pleated skirt is one of the best pieces to have in your wardrobe. You can wear it for work, for going out, or for other events like wedding showers now that all of your friends got engaged over Christmas.
For this holiday party, I chose to wear this 3/4 sleeve blouse because I wanted to wear my new BaubleBar necklace. It seems kind of simple from the front, then when you turn around you get serious glam from the low cut drapey back.
