So I go through phases where I decide I really like a certain piece of clothing and that is literally all I buy for a season. This year it turns out that’s coats. I’ve bought like 5 new coats in the past few months. It’s getting a little out of control. Does anyone else do this? One of my favorites that I just had to have was this plaid jacket from Banana Republic. I seriously loved it the minute I saw it and knew I’d own it. Since my whole wardrobe is black and white you can see why it really stuck with me. In the Fall and Winter I wear red lipstick a lot, mainly because I’m so pale it’s the only thing that makes me look slightly less corpse-like. I love that little pop of red with black and white. It just really does it for me.
I love that this jacket works for dressy or super casual. My weekend outfit is usually jeans and a white tee so it looks perfect with a pair of black jeans and tee for taking my main man out on a coffee and people watching date. I also plan to wear this with a slightly dressier top and heels for dinner out with a real man (not exclusively going on dates with my dog) or with any work outfit really. It’s really warm, but super lightweight which makes it a great travel piece as well. I have a few long coats, so I was really looking for something shorter to wear casual or dressy.
Another trend I’ve been in love with for Fall has been loafer slides. I’m obsessed with this designer pair but for real can’t spend that kind of money on these shoes. Luckily I found tons of great dupes, but the best pair I found are these. They are slightly on the small side so I’d recommend ordering a half size up if you’re in between; I normally wear 9-9 1/12 and went with 9 1/2. I just really like the look of the slides because they seem less masculine than a regular loafer. I feel like my feet are giant and I struggle with wearing any trend that’s even slightly masculine. I’m super happy with how comfortable and how cute these loafers are though. I found lots of other good dupes you can shop below.
