Nothing says Spring to me more than finally being able to ditch the tights and break out all my favorite skirts. I love an A-line midi skirt for work to break away from my routine of pencil skirts and dress pants. I picked up this pleated skirt a few weeks ago and am already obsessed with it. I love it in the black and white, but am also obsessed with the floral it comes in too. I work in a business formal environment, suits and ties, every day. I have to put some effort in to come up with professional outfits that aren’t just a suit because frankly I think throwing on a suit every day is the lazy way out. I love the look of a pleated skirt and a silk blouse together for work. It’s a really simple combo but with the right shoes and accessories it makes an impression.

I paired this pleated skirt with a black bomber jacket here for a little more casual look. With this outfit, you could easily throw on sneakers or flats and be ready for brunch or a day out. If you work in a more creative environment and get to wear whatever you want to work (lucky you), you can definitely pull off the bomber jacket trend. I love bomber jackets, I just think they’re such a cool and comfy outerwear option. I’ve always had a cotton bomber jacket to wear to and from the gym (similar to this), but I’m excited about branching out to all the options that are out there, like this embroidered one.

I love pairing a bomber jacket with anything high-waisted. I’m always wearing my bomber jacket with my mom jeans. A midi skirt also really lends itself to going with a bomber jacket. When I wear a midi skirt I almost always wear a short jacket, the only exception is a trench coat. Since a midi skirt has it’s own shape, you want to accentuate the smallest part of your waist as much as you can. Wearing a shorter jacket helps show off your waist and lets your skirt be the statement piece of the look.

Are you in on the bomber jacket trend yet? I linked a bunch of budget friendly options to shop below!
