Happy Monday all! It’s a short week at work for me because I’m headed somewhere decidedly un-Fall like for the weekend. You can follow along on Snapchat (tracycoble) if you want to know where I’m headed before Thursday. But speaking of work, I got lots of responses on my reader survey (take it here!) about wanting to see more work outfits. That is one of the easiest requests ever since like 90% of my wardrobe is workwear. I’ve mentioned before that my office is really conservative, which can be hard to make your individual style work on a daily basis. I wear suits to work, but I try to mix it up with dresses and skirts because my personal style is pretty feminine. I’ve never actually been big on suits mainly because I already have broad shoulders and shoulder pads in jackets make me look like I should work on a football field not an office cubicle. So I try my best to find pencil dresses or skirts with blouses to look professional while still having my own style.

A great way to mix up your work style is a pleated midi skirt. I can’t tell you how many pencil skirts I own and they get so boring after a while. And being honest, not to mention that some days I’m just not as skinny as others and pencil skirts aren’t really forgiving on those days. Enter the midi skirt. I wore my favorite midi skirt, here, with a button down which is another favorite style (only tucked in, not tied). I recently picked up a pleated midi skirt from Banana Republic, good news it’s on sale online! I love the look of a flowy skirt and it’s perfect with a plain t-shirt. I added my coveted Chanel necklace to up the dressy factor for work. My necklace is a few years old, so it’s not available online anymore. It’s definitely one of those pieces that I cherish and actually wear tons. Why spend that kind of money if I’m never going to wear it? Also two pearls fell out of a C and they say I have to send it back to Paris to get fixed, I guess I’m just going to have to take it there myself. I definitely recommend investing in a nice piece of statement jewelry if you work in a professional environment, it lets you show some personality and ups your style game.

For the most part, my work wardrobe is black, white, blush, and grey. I have to be able to easily mix and match pieces otherwise I’d never be able to get dressed and out the door in the morning. I’m slowly trying to whittle my way down to a capsule wardrobe, but it’s hard because there are still trendy pieces I want. I just limit my work wardrobe to staples and classic colors. This is also helps immensely if you travel for work. I used to travel every week for 3 years and having an easy to mix and match wardrobe was key to staying sane on the road.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
