Early Fall is always the hardest time of year for me for work style. It’s stays pretty warm in St. Louis for a while so I don’t want to put away my lightweight summer pieces just yet. This year I’ve been looking for more sheer pieces to layer for these weeks where it’s still to hot for real Fall clothes. My go-to work style is always black skinny pants and heels. I actually own several colors of these J.Crew skinny pants. They are super comfortable, high waisted, and you can wash them at home. There’s nothing I find more frustrating than having to dry clean all my dress pants. It gets expensive and I just don’t have time to be going to the cleaner’s every other day. These are also great for business travel because they don’t get super wrinkled and if they do, hang them up for ten minutes and they’re good as new.

Right now I’m really loving the bell sleeve trend. I love most things retro inspired, see my cigarette pant addiction. I’ve picked up quite a few bell sleeve tops the past few weeks and cannot wait to wear them. I love the look of this one that I’ve been wearing nonstop for a few weeks. It’s so lightweight and perfect for layering over a tank top for the office. I’d also wear this top for dinner or drinks out with just a black or white bra underneath. It’s not actually as sheer as you’d think, so you can easily get away without a tank for going out.

Another work staple of mine is my favorite pair of Zara block heels. I am obsessed with the Chanel version of these shoes, but not so obsessed with price tag. I’m pretty rough on my everyday work shoes, so I try to keep them on budget. These Zara dupes are great because they are only $40! They are super comfortable and look so expensive. I get compliments on these all the time.

Even though I’m truly a summer girl, I’m still looking forward to breaking out my sweaters and fall colors in a few weeks. But I’m going to hold on to these last few hot weeks while I still can!

What are some of your favorite Summer to Fall transition pieces? Leave them in the comments!
