After what has felt like a rainy few weeks, this weekend could not have been more perfect. Chuck and I spent Saturday by the pool, which resulted in Chuck going for an accidental swim trying to keep everyone from jumping in the pool. Chuck’s not a big fan of swimming even though he’s a great little swimmer. Anyone else with a morkie/yorkie/maltese/tiny dog have a hard time getting them to like swimming?
On Sunday I met up with a friend for iced coffees and a chat. I wore my go-to weekend outfit in summer of a white tee and denim shorts. I have had a hard time finding denim shorts the past few years; it always feels like such a nightmare to shop for them. This year I decided to order a pair of these Levi’s wedgie shorts on kind of a whim. I liked that they were high-waisted, but was kind of worried that they wouldn’t cover my flat booty. I had also read that these shorts were supposed to be miraculous for girls like me who missed out on the day they were giving out reasonably sized behinds. I was pleased to find that these shorts really lived up to their hype of making your booty look amazing. I think the reason they look so good is because of the high waist. This also makes them super comfortable to wear; I’ve always hated low-rise denim shorts because they’re so uncomfortable.
The perfect pairing with denim shorts has to be a white tee. I recently picked up this pima cotton one and have worn it non-stop. It’s super soft and a great length; I feel like I always end up with tees that are just a little too short. Another summer staple for me has to be my straw panama hat. I try to stay out of the sun for the most part (hey pale skin), so anytime I’m heading out I like to take a hat. It was so necessary this weekend because it was so gorgeous, there were hardly any clouds which means in the 20 minutes I was outside I got a sunburn.
