A Week in the Wardrobe

A Week in the Wardrobe-1

I’m always looking for ways to be more productive or to at least give myself more free time during the week. Recently I’ve started planning my outfits on Sundays so I don’t have to think about them when I’m rushing to get ready in the morning. I’m also trying to not be a person who rushes in the morning, but let’s be honest that’s not changing. I thought I’d give you a look into what planning for a week is like for me. Luckily, this week is really busy for me, so quite a few wardrobe changes.

For everyday work wardrobe, my office is really conservative business formal. Typically I wear a dress, a blouse and skirt, or a suit. This can be pretty boring so I have to do something to mix it up. Pencil dresses are my easy go to in the summer since I don’t have to wear a jacket with them. I wear my cream pencil dress tons because it’s really comfy and looks great with accessories, here and here in black. When it comes to blouses and skirts, Ann Taylor and Banana Republic are my staple stores for these pieces. I love Ann Taylor blouses because they always fit incredibly well and are easily washed. I rarely buy things that are dry clean only because it’s a huge hassle to me. I live in this essential blouse and this button up.

This week is a busy one after work most nights. On Thursday I’m grabbing drinks at happy hour with some girls from work so I like to wear something that easily goes from day to night. A classic shirtdress, like this, is perfect for going straight from work to anything. You can easily slip on different heels or flats. On Wednesday night I’m going on date so I’ll probably run home and change first. I just picked up this top that I’ll probably wear with my staple black jeans because I love the silk lace camisole look right now. And I can easily throw on a jacket or cardigan if it’s not 100 degrees by then. Typically my date style is just black jeans and a top, which is kind of boring, but perfect for a mid-week drinks date.

At the weekend I’m meeting up with a girlfriend for some afternoon wine drinking. I just picked up this dress which I love so much for the delicate pattern. I’m probably going to be wearing this every weekend until it’s just not warm enough. Otherwise, the rest of my week will probably be spent in these yoga pants and this tank top. I try to go to Barre3 on nights I’m not busy, but even when I don’t I’m just at home in my yoga pants and Netflix. I have like 5 more seasons of Liz Lemon to get through give me a break.
